Patterned knits are plentiful and key this season.
Why stick with the basics when you can have a little fun with colour and texture?
Below are some great styling images brought to you by the UK Topman team.

The patterned knit is also a focal feature for the latest Topman Trend - Trans Siberia.
Paired with the sharp cuts of the blazers or fit a bit more relaxed with a shearling coat, this trend can easily move from casual to a little more dressed up. As modeled by our lovely guys of Topman.

Here Paul mixes his knit with a classic skinny blazer and slim fit cord trousers.

Marc pulls pattern in his scarf that plays well with the pattern in his jumper and is grounded with his shearling coat and basic chinos, making this a perfect casual day to day look.
Special SHOUT OUT goes out to our PTA Specialist Nathan for dressing our lads up and showcasing our latest trend!
Topshop Make-up Tutorial - The Russian Doll
This week we look at old world glamour and decadence as inspiration. The fresh dewy finish and the deep berry matt lips create a perfect washed out winter look that ties in with our “Deco Grunge” trend with ease. Be sure to take a peek at our make-up collection in store, test some of our great products, have a chat with our lovely makeup artist Diana and perhaps create a holiday look that is perfectly tailored to you.

As the holiday season quickly approaches the hunt for modern, smart and wearable pieces is on the rise. The key look here is combining sharp, slim and elegant tailoring while still maintaining a certain ease and cool that isn’t too over the top. Colour and texture can easily be brought in with detailed bow ties, or perhaps with a slim fit red velvet suit jacket. Adventurous yet polished with a sprinkle of dandy for those willing to take the risk.

What’s great about the ‘Smart ‘ focus taking place this week
is that it leads us to build on our next trend ,‘Trans Siberia’. Here the slim fit blazer and suit pants are borrowed and mixed with heavy knits for a warmer feel but still very much a man taking on the sharp cold of the city.

Highlighted items include patterned pocket squares, slim fit velvet blazers, skinny fit suit trousers and smart shirts cut close and rich in colour or print. Spot these key pieces in store and create your own smart spin. Looking sharp has never been made this easy!

This week in Way to Wear, we look a look at our most basic and yet beloved knit sweaters. A great unstructured jumper is a key part of every winter wardrobe and when used as a layering piece it can be a simple trick to create texture and colour to your look. Here we’ve paired the black knit, with two simple dress pieces and added a few of our favourite accessories currently available in store. The delicateness of the dresses once paired with the knit creates a tougher and grungier look while still being quite girly. Perfect for stomping through our cold slick city streets!

Mr. Marc C is reppin the knitwear trend in our ITEM OF THE WEEK.
With coats on sale in both Topman and Topshop, we’ve got winter on the brain and this cable knit sweater is bang-on layering piece. The flecks of coloured yarn will make item pairings a real dream. So check it. Love it. Hustle it.
Also up this week over at Topman.com is the Autumn/Winter style guide.
Where four of this seasons must have trend pieces will be featured in phases, beginning with Bright Wools. The trend piece is then explained and ready to shop.

Press Play: GRIMES
Montrealer, Clair Boucher’s synthy, RnB, Dream-pop beats seem perfect for such false and fleeting weather as this. Although her musical mash-ups seem eclectic and more than a little a.d.d, her wicked voice still manages to soar and skip across the melody. With a number of sold out shows under her belt, i’m sure Ms. Boucher has quite the future to look forward too.
Her newest album, Visions, incorporates influences as wide as Enya, TLC and Aphex Twin, drawing from genres like New Jack Swing, IDM, New Age, K-pop, Industrial and glitch. This approach has marked Grimes as a curator of culture, and allowed the project to remain flexible and evolving. - Arbutus Records

Here’s a look at the ongoing A/W 2011 look book series, with a special focus on the month of November. Keep your eye out for these pieces on the floor!

Hello everyone!
so here is a look at the latest Topshop trends slowly making it’s way on to the floor. Hopefully the next few images will help break down what the key points are in every look. If there are further questions please drop me a comment!

As for Topman, their latest trend is TRAWLER.
I’ve already posted a detailed look of their floor move and trend break down, so just click here to review it.
Topman kicked off this morning with a massive floor refresher!
It was all hands on deck for the Creative and VM teams and the outcome is fantastic.
The latest trend was also introduced this afternoon. So check it!
The Trawler
The feeling is nautical but the look is not ‘regatta crisp’. With a nod to the dark and icy seas of Russia, chunky cable knits and fisherman’s hats are key for a moody take on sailor attire. Slim jeans in acid and snow washes are mixed with over-sized cardigans and no-frills peacoats whilst blanket-stripe shirt sare worn with underwear-inspired jersey pieces.
This is definitely not your weekend in the Hamptons look.
Far more rugged x nautical by nature. You can click on the image above and peek at the web-shop for what’s in and for what may come.

C/VM flips and tweaks tend to happen quite often. So be sure to walk the floor and find out what’s new.

As most you know, Tuesdays and Thursdays are shipment days. While rails of clothing roll by us, the Topshop floor seems to be the most excited when the skids of shoes boxes hit the back room. I’ve never seen cardboard boxes whipped through so quickly in my life. It’s very much like Christmas, where most are gems with a few coals tossed in for good measure.
Tasia kindly took us through a few of the new pieces that came in last night. Judging by all the glitter and velvet, holiday trends (Glam Rockette specifically) are beginning to creep in. These discoball-esque wonders are certainly not for those that are shy at heart.

Shout Out!
The VM team jazzed up accessories today. New colour stories are now up and new production has been placed. Be sure to check it out when you are in over the next few days.
